Africa Safari South Serengeti

4.0* Hotel

Close to Lake Ndutu, famous for the Great Migration of the wildebeest

Your Travel Experience with Shemeji Safari team

Africa Safari South Serengeti is perfectly situated within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with convenient access to the Crater, and on the south side of Lake Ndutu, just outside the Serengeti National Park. This is truly the best of both worlds! The short rains in November and December provide nutritious pastures for the wildebeest, which stay in the area until the end of the long rains. Most calves are born in January and February. Whilst the open grassy plains offer them some safety, these young wildebeest attract hungry predators, such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. The area around Lake Ndutu is also famous for being home to 6 species of big cats (lion, cheetah, leopard, serval, African wild cat, and caracal) which are present throughout the year. Between April and November, the south-eastern plains dry out, but there is still an abundance of game in the area as there are two important water sources, Lake Masek and Lake Ndutu, where many wild animals come to drink.

The 21 classic safari tents are fully furnished with locally made furniture and have an ensuite bathroom. There are also 5 Safari Tents available, with shared toilet and shower facilities..
